Publishing a journal
Do you plan to publish a medical or health related journal? Then, IHA can certainly help you! There are many things to consider when you plan to publish a journal. IHA team will put the pieces together and help you establish your journal in a very short time. You must of course decide the title and scope of the journal. Consider that the title is unique and has not existed before. You must choose your editorial board and appoint one chief editor and preferably an assistant or vice chief editor. When selecting you editorial board, make sure that you have at least 3 editors with research grants. We could help you publishing online and paper journals.
Getting ISSN
One of the most important steps is to get ISSN for your journal. There are two types of ISSN. One for online journals and the other is for paper ISSN. You will need to get both if you are publishing your journal in both online and paper format.IHA could obtain the unique ISSN for both online and paper format. However, ISSN will be only issued after you have published at least one article in your journal.
Getting DOI
A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string assigned by a registration agency (the International DOI Foundation) to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet. The publisher assigns a DOI when your article is published and made available electronically. All DOI numbers begin with a 10 and contain a prefix and a suffix separated by a slash. The prefix is a unique number of four or more digits assigned to organizations; the suffix is assigned by the publisher and was designed to be flexible with publisher identification standards.
Hosting your Journal
IHA can host your journal in the IHA journals’ portal. If you have already a web site, we can upload the journal in your web site. If you wish to get a dedicated hosting for the journal, IHA can help you getting suitable hosting according to your needs.
Training your editors
IHA will also train your editors to handle the submitted articles. The training includes assigning editors to follow up the submitted articles, how to ensure blind review, assigning reviewers, how to deal with reviewers’ comments, informing the authors about the reviewers’ comments, taking an editorial decision, copy editing, proof readings, and scheduling the accepted articles for publication.
