Indexing & Archiving

Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

IHA is a CrossRef member. Crossref is the organization responsible for assigning DOIs to scholarly items (articles, datasets, etc.). Each of the articles published by IHA journals will be assigned a digital object identifier (DOI) number, which will act as its persistent identifier.

Archiving

In order to ensure the efforts of our authors and reviewers are not lost in case of any unfortunate event leading to the termination of our activities, IHA (like most open access publishers nowadays) aims to provide long-term archiving its articles. This is usually done by registering our journals to a service that will provide access to all of our articles (using DOI numbers) in case our website no longer works. Currently, IHA administration is seeking to register its journals with Public Knowledge Project’s Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN) as a provider of this service.

Indexing

IHA does not condone fake indexes and do not intend to have any of its journals indexed by them. After a period of interruption for some our our journals, we are now seeking to revamp our website and enhance our publishing practices in order to qualify for indexing in major reputable scholarly publishing indexing services.

By the end of 2019, our aim is to have all of our journals indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and at least one or two journals indexed by Scopus. Our long-term goal is to publish high quality medical research that qualifies our journals to be indexed (following the provision of JATS-compliant xml version of our articles) in PubMed.
