the congress. The following information will be published: First Name, Last Name, Credentials,
Institution, City, State/Province, Country, email Address.
• More than one abstract may be submitted per author, but each abstract must be submitted
separately.
Title:
• Keep title short (<125 characters with spaces) and appealing.
• Capitalize the first letter of each major word in titles and subtitles. Do not capitalize articles (eg, a,
an, the), prepositions of 3 or fewer letters, coordinating conjunctions (and, or, for, nor, but), or the to
in infinitives.
• Do capitalize a 2-letter verb, such as Is or Be.
• Refer to AMA style for capitalization guidelines.
Abstract Content:
• All abstracts must be no more than 300 words (not including title or authors, or the headings within
the online abstract system template, but including all other content).
• All abstract must be designed according to the following subtitles: Background, Methodology,
Results, Discussion, Recommendation.

Related keywords should be given at the end of the abstract. Don’t exceed 6 key words. The first
letter of each keyword must be capital case.
• Make sure your lines are text-wrapped rather than return-ended and that there are two spaces after
each period.
• All abstracts must include any funding sources utilizing the dropdown menu in the abstract
submission system. Grant numbers are optional.
• Authors should be aware that abstracts will be published as submitted without copyediting;
therefore, spelling errors, grammar, misspelled author name/credentials, will be published as
submitted, if accepted.
Responsibility of Abstract Presenters:
• Presenters must register for our congress and are responsible for all registration and personal
expenses related to the meeting. Authors are responsible for providing a substitute presenter if the
author is unable to present.
• Abstracts will be indexed by the last name of the presenting author.
• No materials for sale are allowed at any presentation.
• Submissions should not have been published or formally presented elsewhere prior to the annual
meeting.
• The corresponding author will be notified no later than 5th August, 2016 for regular abstracts and
15th August, 2016 for late breaking abstracts.
• Authors are encouraged to consider the new Arab Journal of Medical Education (AJME) for publication
of papers based on presentations at the 1st annual Congress of Arab Alliance for Medical
Education. However, acceptance of an abstract does not guarantee acceptance by AJME, nor does
rejection of an abstract indicate that it would be unsuitable for publication in AJME.

• Authors should be aware that abstracts will be published as submitted without copyediting; therefore,
spelling errors, grammar, misspelled author name/credentials, will be published as submitted, if
accepted.
Review Process
• All abstracts will be blinded and peer reviewed according to specific criteria.
• Authors will receive feedback if their submission is rejected.
• Rejected standard abstracts can be resubmitted by the late breaking deadline of 14th August, 2016.
• All accepted abstracts will be published in a supplemental issue of the Arab Journal of Medical Education
(AJME) for the 1st Annual Congress of Arab Alliance for Medical Education.
• Due to the blinded review process, reviewers cannot determine if a student or professional submitted
the abstract. Therefore, faculty who have students submitting abstracts are strongly encouraged
to review these abstracts and assist their students in writing the abstract if necessary to increase the
students’ chances of acceptance.
• If you have any questions, please contact the Congress secretariat.
